Sunshine RV park & Key West

60 mile down the road from John Pennekamp just beyond the 7 mile bridge is Sunshine Key RV park.  All the amenities, great pool and nice beach for the keys, lots of sand no water shoes required.  Of course, like everything else down in the Keys, not inexpensive.  They have some great sites though, about a dozen right on the beach.
Awesome pool -warm - lots of shade - very clean.

Friday night we head off to Key West to take in the wilding of Fantasy Fest, Friday night is supposed to be a bit less crowded but that is debatable. Suffice to say it was a spectacle, lot's of paint covered skin, un-paint covered skin, ladies and men of all ages, even things that shouldn't be mentioned.  It was a big, head turning, eyes wandering party.  It got a bit hazy after a while.
The theme was intergalactic, hence the purple hair.
..more purple hair.

Needless to say Saturday was a recovery day.
Sunday for a quick snorkel at Sombrero Lighthouse, good visibility, coral fish, barracudas, turtles and jellyfish,  lots of jellyfish.
Collected a few stings at the end of the swim

This fella was eating them at least (the jellyfish).

Monday we took another trip to Key West for a lunch at Schooners and a visit to the Butterfly Museum (really,a must see). Hundreds of butterflys and small birds flying around, very peaceful and beautiful.

Of course the trip had to have a problem.  On the way home, Tuesday, just before getting on I75 N from the turnpike... BAMM  the front passenger tire blows, a bit of a panic, a quick pullover (thankfully we were in the right hand lane).

4 hours and $$$$$ we are back on the road.
